Roger C. is a person in recovery from alcoholism. He launched the website AA Agnostica in 2011. It is “a space for agnostics, atheists and freethinkers in AA” and was the first secular AA website with writers from around the world. With some 700 articles, the site has made a significant contribution to the growth of the secular AA movement.
Via the website, he has written, edited or published a total of ten books. All of these are meant to help those in recovery and especially those who don’t believe that their recovery is dependent upon a supernatural interventionist deity. Perhaps ironically, Roger earned a Masters degree in Religious Studies from McGill University. After moving to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada he launched a “We Agnostics” AA group.
