Rule 62 – Bronze Affirmation Medallion

From Tradition Four in Alcoholics Anonymous, the story is that early on in AA, an AA group wanted to start a recovery/treatment/AA facility and so they started coming up with rules on how the place would be run, who could be admitted etc. There was quite a lot of internal conflict and so to try to resolve their differences, they came up with 61 rules. Then one of the members said simply: “Rule #62, don’t take yourself so damn seriously” and since then it has been the symbol of humility that not only a group, but each individual can maintain.
