About the Book
Nine-year-old Trevor Baker is big, heavy, and very angry. Known as the neighborhood and school bully, Trevor’s rage erupts one night after his mother takes away his television. Storming out of the house, he lashes out—shouting, punching, and kicking anything in his path. But when his fury still isn’t satisfied, Trevor encounters something unexpected: a massive old maple tree outside his home, tall enough to reach his second-floor bedroom window.
At first, Trevor sees the tree as just another target for his fists and feet. But when he strikes it, something changes. Instead of fueling his anger, the tree absorbs it. Soon, the maple becomes more than just wood and leaves—it becomes Trevor’s Anger Tree, a friend and confidant only he can hear. With patience and wisdom, the tree guides Trevor to see beyond his rage, encouraging him to read, learn, and explore the bigger world around him.
An inspirational and heartfelt story, Anger Tree is a moving tale about friendship, self-discovery, and finding healthier ways to cope with overwhelming emotions.
