If I Die Before I Wake
A Memoir of Drinking and Recovery
Author: Barb Rogers
Overview
In this raw and unflinching memoir, Barb Rogers traces her life through tragedy, addiction, and ultimately recovery. Beginning with the devastating death of her teenage son, Jon, she reveals the pain of growing up in a home marked by substance and emotional abuse. Her story is not about glamour or survival of the fittest, but about the struggle of the weak, the hopeless, and the truly addicted—those caught in the cycle of substances, drama, anger, and excuses.
Rogers recounts her lowest points and the turning moment when she finally sought help through a 12-step program. With grit, honesty, and flashes of humor, she shows what it takes to stay sober, rebuild a life, and discover hope after despair. This is a book for anyone who has ever wondered if change is possible—it is, and Rogers proves it.
