The Worry Trap
How to Free Yourself from Worry Using Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Author: Chad LeJeune, Ph.D.
Do you ever feel trapped in your own thoughts â caught in a loop of âwhat-ifs,â worst-case scenarios, and fears you canât shut off?
In The Worry Trap, clinical psychologist Dr. Chad LeJeune offers a compassionate, research-backed way to finally loosen worryâs grip. Drawing on the powerful principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), this groundbreaking book shows that the more we fight our anxious thoughts, the stronger they become â and that true peace comes not from control, but from acceptance, mindfulness, and purposeful action.
Rather than trying to suppress or eliminate your worries, Dr. LeJeune teaches how to âde-fuseâ from them â to observe anxious thoughts without getting pulled in. Through step-by-step exercises, youâll learn to make room for discomfort, act according to your deepest values, and live meaningfully â even in the presence of uncertainty.
This is not a quick fix or a promise of a worry-free life. Itâs a practical guide to living fully with peace of mind, regardless of what your anxious brain throws your way.
âPragmatic, straightforward help from an astute and expert clinician; the author draws on cutting-edge research findings to help those who suffer from the age-old problem of worry.â
â Jacqueline B. Persons, Ph.D., Director, San Francisco Bay Area Center for Cognitive Therapy
âA practical and informative approach for dealing with worry that places it squarely in the larger and wondrous context of oneâs whole life. The mindfulness and acceptance practices open the door to real transformation.â
â Jeffrey Brantley, M.D., Duke University, author of Calming Your Anxious Mind
